Formulation and evaluation of detarium oil based organogel for sustained release of metronidazole via topical delivery

نویسندگان

چکیده

The rationale for this study was to increase the absorption of model drug metronidazole by formulating an organogel using detarium oil in place conventional oils used formulation such as liquid paraffin. organogels were prepared fluid-filled mechanism drug. drug-surfactant mixtures dissolved followed addition water which led formation at specific compositions. formulations analyzed microscopy, rheology, vitro release and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Microscopic studies revealed gels contained clusters water-filled spherical structures. FTIR showed compatibility components organogels. DSC result all released heat during formation. viscosity elastic flow a non-elastic phase. cumulative percentagerelease found be between 63% 85% end 10 h, with OGM 9 having highest release. XRD indicated crystalline nature Metronidazole from dissolution, shape, size, surface area dependent results also good excipients. Sustained successfully developed oil.

Formulation and Evaluation of Sustained Release Matrix Tablets of Glipizide

The purpose of this study was to develop a new monolithic matrix tablet to completely deliver glipizide in a zero order manner over a sustained period. Two approaches were examined using drug in a formulation that contain polymer like hydroxylpropyl methyl-cellulose K 100 (HPMCK) and Eudragit L 100. The granules were prepared by wet granulation method and thereby formulated as F-1, F-2. F...

Gelatin Microspheres for the Controlled Release of All-trans-Retinoic Acid Topical Formulation and Drug Delivery Evaluation

A topical o/w cream containing tretinoin microspheres was prepared. Gelatin microspheres of tretinoin were prepared using coacervation method. These microspheres contained about 50% w/w tretinoin. The particle size range of microspheres was between 90-150 m m. In vitro drug release from microspheres and a cream formulation was studied. It was shown that drug release from microspheres followed H...
